Annandale House

Annandale House

Year: 2014
Client: Private residence
Location: Annandale, NSW

This small treasure of a house in one of Annandale’s premier tree lined streets underwent a major transformation at the hands of JPA&D’s Senior Design Architect Ross Thornton.
The heritage elements to the front of the house were refined and enhanced by detailed repairs to the plasterwork, joinery and windows grilles. Recycled blackbutt flooring was use throughout the house. The rear of the house was reconfigured to provide a modern bathroom and kitchen, with an open planned lounge area that flows, via sliding doors, onto the leafy rear courtyard. Custom joinery in the kitchen uses matching blackbutt veneer, and contains surprising compartments for the storage of fragile items such as wine glasses.
