JPA&D were invited by the TVS partnership in Brisbane to design the interior spaces of the new extension
to the YHA in Brisbane.
With five floors and many visitors for whom English is not their first language, way-finding was a priority.
To help achieve this, each floor was themed as a particular Australian environment; City, Outback, Rainforest,
Reef and Beach and colours and super-graphics selected that supported the theme.
Furniture was selected for the general lounge and eating areas that was robust enough to cater for the
hostels youth demographic yet still looked inviting and supported the various themes.
