Officially opened on the 27th May 2009 by the Mayor of Sutherland Shire, the Vision Australia Caringbah
facility created an environment in which contrasting colours and textures were used to assist the orientation of
people who are blind or have low vision.
Vision Australia’s corporate colours and facilities standards were utilised to refurbish what had originally
been a hardware store into a vital asset for people who are blind or have low vision, to
provide equitable access throughout the entire facility, and create a pleasant environment for those who work
there.
